Planned March At Wootton Bassett

A group with ties to a banned Islamic group is planning a march on Wootton Bassett.

Wootton Bassett has become famous for the processions of repatriated service men and women who have tragically lost their lives whilst on active service in Afghanistan.

The leader of the group Islam4UK, Anjem Choudary, has released details of their intention to bring Muslims to protest , it would seem from their “current affairs” release that they would like to bring attention to the “genocide” being committed by all soldiers in Muslim countries and injustice of British soldiers bring “paraded as war heroes”.  The group also want to bring attention to the media their desire to convert England to an Islamic state under the Sharia law.

Most of the nation is in up-roar over the proposed march, Wootton Bassett has become a route where the public can pay their respect and honour the dead who have given their lives for this country.

The Wilshire town of Wootton Bassett has seen a number of Muslims protests, with offensive and inflammatory placards being waved while soldier’s bodies are being returned home. These Muslims have been led by Choudary and his Islam4UK website, as well as the militant and banned group they represent Al-Muhajiroun.

While the group says they are against the murder of innocent Muslims, they seem to show a great deal of respect and admiration for terrorists, suicide bombers and al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, people who have no problem targeting civilians.

It is unlikely that this march will be authorised by the authorities and Choudary has also admitted that the location has been chosen in order to bring the up-roar and maximum media profile. He brings up democracy and asks why he can’t hold his protest where he likes?

We understand that lots of people will have lots of thoughts about this march and we welcome your comments.

Major Hasan Linked To Radical Muslim Cleric

Posted in Crime, news, terrorism with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 11/09/2009 by securityscene

Officials are said to be looking into possible ties between Major Nidal Malik Hasan and a radical Muslim cleric.

It is believed that over the last year US intelligence agencies had intercepted communications between the Major and Anwar al-Aulaqi, the preacher is said to have had links to two of the 9/11 hijackers as well as contact between a suspected procurement agent working for Osama Bin Laden.

The preacher, a Yemeni-American Muslim worked for a time at a Virginia mosque Hasan had attended.

Investigators have said that they are working on the assumption that the man accused of killing 13 people and wounding 29 others at Fort Hood was working alone without encouragement from Islamist extremists. However the possible links to radical clerics as well as some postings Hasan made on an Islamic forum likening suicide bombers to Japanese Kamikaze pilots in war time, this seems to show that he did have some extremist views.

Anwar al-Aulaqi has since praised Hasan as a hero for his attack on the US base, stating that any Muslim who denounces his actions commits treason against Islam. He is reported to have said that Muslims could only justify serving in the US military if they intend to “follow in the footsteps of men like Nidal.”

The FBI and Army intelligence will be looking to see if these investigations missed anything that could have led to the stopping of this attack on US military personal and civilians in the Texas base.

Meanwhile it’s been reported by hospital staff that Hasan has now regained consciousness and is able to speak. He is currently at San Antonio Texas based Brooke Army Medical Centre, listed as critical but stable over the weekend, he has now had his ventilator removed and is said to be speaking to staff members at the hospital.

It is not yet known if the authorities have started to interview the former Major, but it will only be a matter of time before they question him in an attempt to understand what happened and find out any motives for the attack.

Military law experts have been telling the media that they expect Hasan will be charged with 13 separate counts of first-degree murder.
